Princess Hanya (The IV)

Hanya was the fourth daughter of the King of Persia, ‘The Shahanshah Shah Behram’. Behram was thirty years old when he ascended the throne, following the death of his father. Behram fought bloody battles to overcome treason and became the most powerful emperor of Persia. Behram had four daughters. But her loved one was the younger Hanya. He loved Hanya from the core of his heart. Hanya was very beautiful but an unhappy young girl. Her mother was dead and her father has married a widow with three daughters. Her step mother didn’t like her and use to tease and abuse her all the time. All her love was for her three daughters. Nothing was good for Hanya, dresses, shoes, delicious food, soft beds, and every home comfort. Hanya never knew that misfortune is still on her way and she will even loose, very soon, her last merely proud possession that was her father’s love for her.

Hanya used to spend long hours all alone talking to the cat. The cat said, Miaow… which really meant, cheer up! You have some thing exquisite that neither of your step sisters has and that is beauty… It was quite true Hanya even in old dresses look gorgeous and lovely. While her stepsisters even in nice clothes look clumsy, lumpy and ugly always.

One day her father decided to have her girls and let them find out special about him, “the love her daughters have for him”. All of the four daughters were there. The Shahanshah asked his elder daughter: Tell me how much you love me? She replied: Father! I love you like a honey… The King replied Wow!!! You compared me with honey, so sweet. She further told that father honey is a sweet food made by bees from flowers, father, you are also made by god from flowers. The King was touched and clapped for her daughter’s impressive praise. Then comes the second daughter’s turn. She replied: Father! I love you like fruits… Fruits are the special gifts of god for humans to eat them and enjoy their heavenly taste. So I personify you like fruits, they are the sweetest gift of god. The King was again impressed and kissed her second daughter. Then comes the third daughter’s turn. She replied: Father! I personify you like a Lion… Lion is a King of the jungle, it rules the whole jungle, and same is you, ruling the whole Persia like a lion. The King got so happy by her three of the daughters exquisite views about her father. Then in the last, comes the turn of her younger and most loveable daughter Hanya. Hanya replied: Father! I love you like a salt… The King at once get astonished and shouted... What crab you are talking Hanya? Have you gone mad? Hanya replied: Father! I am not finished yet...! The King got so crazy and shouted just shut up… The King ordered: Hanya is no more my daughter and not even a part of a castle; he called the guards to imprison her into the horrible jungle’s jail. The guards took her to the jungle and finally she was imprisoned.

One day, Hanya some how managed to find a way to run out of the jail and finally she was succeeded. She was running very fast to get out of the horrible jungle as soon as she can before twilight. Luckily she was caught by a wandering prince of Iran riding at his horse. The prince was startled by the beauty of Hanya. Hanya cried for help… Prince took her to the castle. Hanya told the whole story to the prince. Prince was ashamed of the Shahanshah of Persia. Prince decided to marry Hanya. They had a huge wedding ceremony and were finally married. One day prince told Hanya: “I have a plan to invite your father to our kingdom and give him a grand reception. The food that will be cooked for the King will be without salt. And as soon Shahanshah complains about the tasteless food, you then appear and take your revenge”. Hanya got happy with this plan.

Finally, King arrived... They gave him a grand reception but when it comes to the lunch, the King complained about the tasteless food; there is no salt in it. How come I eat it? There appeared Hanya, King was shocked to see her. Hanya said, see father, this is the importance of salt. I wanted to explain you this fact, but you never allowed me to speak and recklessly gave me a horrible penalty. Finally, the King felt sorry and was ashamed. He then embraced Hanya, wept a lot and asked for pardon.

Moral: Nothing is valueless. Everything has its value. Don’t degrade even those things that doesn't seems valued, when the time comes it shows their value.
